The
'Art' of Getting Ahead
Many of us heard the phrase getting ahead at some point in life. Have you ever stopped to think about what it really means? After many years of studying people that have mastered the getting ahead game…the final word is there is an "Art" to doing it well.
There are several things you need to do:
Ø It begins with developing a plan for success that you can modify at various stages of your life. In others words, the plan is not set in stone and you need to be flexible. Would recommend hiring a success coach (Tom Boneparte)… this tip is critical. In other words ... some one who has been there and done that.
Ø You must follow your plan with a conviction and purpose that clearly sets you apart from others in the pursuit of your dreams and goals. As Les Brown, the "Master Motivator" coined --- you gotta be hungry!!
Ø You must let nothing or anyone get in your way. (Not lack of education, looks, money, momma, daddy, sister, brother, husband, wife, or friends)
Ø Put your ego aside and learn to work well with others. It might surprise you to know that strangers will have a bigger impact in helping you reach your goals than many people you know… including your family in some instances.
Ø Hire the best talent or seek out the best people for advice and help. After all, you get what you pay for.
