CCbM’s first project was a hand dance competition called the Most Creative Hand Dance Couples of 2002 Competition held on Saturday, January 12, 2002, at the Hollywood Ballroom in Silver Spring, Maryland. The event was very successful. The Most Creative Hand Dance Competition (MCHDC) was Copyright 2002. All rights reserved.

The below schedule depicts CCbM’s upcoming dance competition information:

  • WHAT: MCHDC including other East Coast dance styles;
  • WHEN: Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19, 2003;
  • TIME: 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 a.m. (both days); and
  • WHERE: Ramada Inn, in New Carollton, Maryland.

    Besides this competition being the first of its kind in the hand dance community, we will commemorate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and make a financial donation to St. Anne’s Infant Home.

EVALUATORS
Go to top of page

CCbM competitions offer prize money that is comparable to championship dance competitions. In MCHDC, prizes are awarded at the end of every category while the memory of the dancers are fresh in the minds of the spectators. The fair evaluation of the contestants is of uttermost importance. The evaluators (formally called judges) can not compete; can not evaluate past/present students, family members, or significant others; and will go through an interview process.

EVALUATION PROCEDURES
Go to top of page

Contestants will be evaluated on the creativity of their dance styles in coordination with their musical interpretation, choreography, techniques, projection, and execution while dancing to the music of their choice. Some categories will require contestants to dance an additional routine to the music of the coordinator’s choosing.
